Welcome to CHEDD LTD, a long-established plumbing, heating and gas company based in Guildford, specialising in servicing, repairs and installation.

Originally established in 1980, G A Chedd later became a limited company in 1993. The business was built and developed by Gerry Chedd, growing from the existing client base of Gavestock and going from strength to strength over the following decades.

That connection gives the business a heritage stretching back much further than CHEDD LTD itself. Through Gavestock, Gerry, and now Dan and Josh, the customer base has been continually developed and added to for more than 70 years, with many long-standing relationships being carried forward through successive generations of the business.

Gerry worked hard to build CHEDD LTD into the highly regarded and trusted company it is today, establishing the high standards of workmanship, reliability and customer service that continue to form the foundations of the business.

The next generation of CHEDD LTD came from within the company itself.

Dan joined CHEDD LTD as an apprentice in 2008, learning the trade from the ground up and working alongside Gerry. After progressing through the business and developing his experience as a plumbing and heating engineer, Dan became a director in 2015.

Josh joined CHEDD LTD as an apprentice in 2013, following the same route and learning the standards and values on which the company had been built. Josh became a director in 2017.

Later that year, Gerry retired and stepped down as a director, handing the business he had spent decades building over to Dan and Josh.

For Dan and Josh, taking over CHEDD LTD was much more than simply taking ownership of an established company. It was the continuation of the business in which they had both learnt their trade and developed their careers.

Since taking over, Dan and Josh have worked hard to preserve the traditional values and reputation Gerry established, while bringing the company firmly into the 21st century. Today, CHEDD LTD combines decades of experience and traditional workmanship with modern technology, improved systems and a forward-thinking approach to customer service.

We currently have four highly experienced and qualified engineers, each bringing their own skills and strengths to the business.

For our customers' peace of mind, CHEDD LTD is Gas Safe Registered (No. 4573) and OFTEC Registered (No. C1626), covering our gas, LPG and oil heating services. We are also members of CIPHE – the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering – and hold City & Guilds qualifications.

We also carry public liability insurance of up to £5 million, giving our customers further reassurance when choosing us to work in their home or business.

Based in Guildford, we provide plumbing and heating services throughout Surrey, London, Hampshire and Sussex, working extensively in Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Godalming and the surrounding areas.

While the company has continued to evolve, the principles on which CHEDD LTD was built remain unchanged: quality workmanship, honest advice, reliability and putting our customers first.

Those values are summed up by the slogan Gerry Chedd passed down to the business, which remains just as important to CHEDD LTD today:

From its roots in the Gavestock customer base, through Gerry Chedd, and now under Dan and Josh, the business has benefited from more than 70 years of continually building trusted customer relationships.
